Consumer complaints
A defective product or a service that failed you
The National Consumer Helpline resolves many complaints before they reach a forum. Start there, and keep every acknowledgement.
How a consumer complaint works
- 1Complain to the seller firstPut your complaint in writing (email is fine) and keep a copy. A dated record of asking is the first thing a forum looks for.
- 2Register on the National Consumer HelplineCall 1915 or file on consumerhelpline.gov.in. It is a pre-litigation mediation route, and many complaints are settled here.
- 3Approach a Consumer Commission if unresolvedIf the matter is not resolved, you can file before the District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission for your area.
To draft the complaint itself, describe your problem in the chat and use “Generate complaint”. The draft and its download are free.
